About Sneed's Nursery | Community

Community involvement is the cornerstone of Sneed’s success. Since 1975, Sneed’s has supported local schools and civic groups in the area through donations and partnerships. Our work with St. Catherine’s Daisy Days and Collegiate’s Village Green Fair spring plant sales has been very successful. Spring and Fall plant sales, as well as poinsettia and Christmas greenery sales, are a wonderful way for schools to raise money.

Sneed’s partnered with Ellwood Thompson’s in 2008 to install plants at the Carter Jones/Fonticello Park near Forest Hill Ave. We also secured plants for a James River Park System project in January of 2009. We participate in the city’s Arbor Day and the Virginia GoGreen Garden Festivals in an effort to get the word out about organics and sustainable practices in the home garden.
