Nestled in the heart of Bon Air, our quaint garden center offers friendly and knowledgeable assistance for all aspects of outdoor living. We strive to bring you the finest plants available.

In the Garden Center ... the Seasons at Sneed's

Keeping pace with Mother Nature is never easy and always a challenge. Our garden center is open 12 months a year carrying plants of many descriptions. The first new products of the season are pots, containers and urns. They arrive by the hundreds in February and March. The new season’s trees, shrubs and perennials start coming in by the truckloads in March. Annuals, herbs and veggies follow close behind. February means fertilizing. We offer a variety of products and expert advice. Our cozy cottage offers garden-inspired home accents and houseplants. Bring the outdoors in to ward off cabin fever!

Watch for these “winter bloomers” in March:
Winter Jasmine ▪ Daphne Odora ▪ Lenten Rose ▪ Witch Hazel
Pansies/Violas ▪ Spirea ▪ Forsythia

April showers bring May flowers, and springtime in Virginia is bloomin’ beautiful. Our garden center is a must to visit. Come in to see our incredible selections of these spring-blooming trees and shrubs. If you’re thinking of adding any of these bloomers to your yard, the time to shop is while they are blooming.

Dogwood ▪ Redbud ▪ Tulip Magnolia ▪ Kwansan Cherry
Weeping Cherry ▪ Crabapple ▪ Fothergilla ▪ Carlesii Viburnum
Quince ▪ Lilac ▪ Azaleas

We all love the harbingers of spring, so watch for these perennial bloomers in April.

The Almanac predicts our last frost for April 15, and many of our summer annuals arrive well before this date and can withstand cool temperatures. After this date we’re always bursting with buds and blooms of every imaginable color and hue. In the cottage you can find the best gardening gloves and other accoutrements for gardening in style.

Some of our new favorite summer annuals include:
Cuphea Rosea ▪ Voodoo Fuchsia ▪ Upright Lobelia
Diamond Frost Euphorbia ▪ Catalina Torenia
Hummingbird Salvia ▪ Exotic Impatiens

Now you’re back from summer vacation . . .
and find that your pots of annuals did not survive your absence. We strive to carry a full selection of annuals so your pots and containers can be refurbished throughout the summer. Benches, arbors and bird baths are also a great summer addition to your yard.

October means pansies, violas and pumpkins . . .

We’ve got it all – from orange and black pansies to blue and white pumpkins. Our selection of unusual gourds and pumpkins is so huge it’s scary !!!!!

October and November are the best months for planting trees and shrubs. The moderate temperatures we experience are conducive to strong survivability. Spring-blooming bulbs need to be planted no earlier than mid October. We stock the best in fragrant and naturalizing daffodils. Our collection of tulip bulbs leans to the exotic. Snowdrops, Alliums and Iris are also available for planting.

It’s the coolest time to plant.
