Our garden center carries the standard plants and supplies as well as hard-to-find cultivars, new plant introductions and organic solutions. In the gift cottage you’ll find everything from garden baubles to guest towels. In the Garden Center ... the Seasons at Sneed'sKeeping pace with Mother Nature is never easy and always a challenge. Our garden center is open 12 months a year carrying plants of many descriptions. The first new products of the season are pots, containers and urns. They arrive by the hundreds in February and March. The new season’s trees, shrubs and perennials start coming in by the truckloads in March. Annuals, herbs and veggies follow close behind. February means fertilizing. We offer a variety of products and expert advice. Our cozy cottage offers garden-inspired home accents and houseplants. Bring the outdoors in to ward off cabin fever! Watch for these “winter bloomers” in March:
April showers bring May flowers, and springtime in Virginia is bloomin’ beautiful. Our garden center is a must to visit. Come in to see our incredible selections of these spring-blooming trees and shrubs. If you’re thinking of adding any of these bloomers to your yard, the time to shop is while they are blooming. The Almanac predicts our last frost for April 15, and many of our summer annuals arrive well before this date and can withstand cool temperatures. After this date we’re always bursting with buds and blooms of every imaginable color and hue. In the cottage you can find the best gardening gloves and other accoutrements for gardening in style. Now you’re back from summer vacation . . . End of season sale . . . In late August we reduce prices on our leftover summer stock in order to make room for our new fall plants.

October means pansies, violas and pumpkins . . . We’ve got it all – from orange and black pansies to blue and white pumpkins. Our selection of unusual gourds and pumpkins is so huge it’s scary !!!!!
October and November are the best months for planting trees and shrubs. The moderate temperatures we experience are conducive to strong survivability. Spring-blooming bulbs need to be planted no earlier than mid October. We stock the best in fragrant and naturalizing daffodils. Our collection of tulip bulbs leans to the exotic. Snowdrops, Alliums and Iris are also available for planting. It’s the coolest time to plant.
The Best Christmas Trees in Richmond . . . The Christmas season at Sneed’s Nursery and Garden Center is kicked off by our annual open house on the first weekend in December. Our Fraser Firs are the highest grade available and our wreaths and garlands the freshest. Stop by and let our designers customize a wreath or garland just for you. Inside our cottage, we offer unique poinsettias and other Christmas adornments and décor, as well as gifts for the gardener.
