Kids Club

Sneed's Kids Club is for children ages 4-10 who love to play in the garden, catch bugs, or grow plants. We have activities planned for May through November. So let your kids come to the garden center and get their hands dirty!

Some of our past activities include:

making stepping stones
scavenger hunt
painting pumpkins
bulb planting
making birdfeeders

Kids Club members will receive a post card every month with the date and time of the activity, as well as any registration information. Members will also receive a birthday postcard which they can redeem in the garden center for a gift. Call or come by the shop to register - we look forward to seeing you!

In addition to the Kids Club, we encourage teachers to inquire about tours of the nursery or participation in weekday activities.

Custom Containers

Our Custom Container service is extremely popular with home owners and businesses alike. We can furnish your patio, deck, or porch with a coordinated collection of containers cascading with colorful perennials, annuals, trees, or shrubs. Perhaps you already have your planters or pots, but don't know what to put in them. Whatever your needs, just ask for a consultation with our container guru. If your store front is in need of a floral makeover, ask about our commercial maintenance program.

Special Orders

From that beautiful piece of statuary you saw at your best friend's house, to that really obscure tree you read about in a magazine, Sneed's will make every reasonable effort to locate special items of interest.

Bulk Mulch & Top Soil

In addition to our bagged mulches and top soil, we offer both in bulk quantities. One cubic yard of double-shredded hardwood mulch is $25 and ¾ cubic yard of topsoil is also $25. Call for availability and prices on crusher run gravel, stone dust, and our selection of wall stone

Fine pine is really fine ...

Many homeowners are now using fine pine mulch instead of hardwood. I love to ask this question - which would you rather have around your beautiful perennials - something shredded or something fine? The best quality of fine pine mulch is that it does not form a crust that repels water like hardwood mulch. You will be amazed to see the difference when you water your beds.

Pine Tags & Straw

Sneed's is one of the few garden centers in Richmond that carries pine tags (or pine straw, depending on where ya'll're from). It is kept dry under cover and available year round at $6.49 per bale. We offer a discount of 10% for sales of over 20 bales. We also have straw available for $4.49 per bale.
