The
initial consultation with the owners of the featured project began
in January 2004. The family had moved into the house the previous
year and were interested in landscape services.
Drainage
problems had eroded areas along the rear foundation, and the family
dogs were ruining the lawn.
Along the rear property, many of the existing trees left by the
builder were dead or in decline.
During
the initial consultation we discussed goals and desires for the
rear landscape. We both agreed that the project required a master
plan. The initial design was started in February.
Goals
of the project included:
access to the rear yard,
correcting drainage problems,
expanding the rear patio,
creating privacy screening,
building a retaining wall.
After
numerous review sessions the final plan was completed in April.
The
next step involved a cost analysis and schedule date.
The
project began at the end of May and lasted approximately six weeks.
