Pawpaws 101
Sept 28, 1pm
5 US dollars
$5
Service Description
A pawpaw patch nourishes humans, the Zebra Swallowtail butterfly (as its larval host), songbirds, and other wildlife --- except for deer who truly find them repugnant. In this class, Mike Ferster from Woodside Pawpaw will teach us how we can appreciate this native tree in our parks systems and in our own landscapes. Woodside Pawpaw is a local orchard and plant nursery dedicated to spreading the love and knowledge of the North American Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) and its companion plants. Formerly trained as a teacher, Mike enjoys talking and teaching about all things pawpaw, and, of course, eating them.
